Helmsley Arts Centre
Helmsley, North Yorkshire, YO62 5DW
Helmsley Arts Centre occupies a converted Friends Meeting House in the heart of this popular North York Moors market town. The centre sits just off the Market Place, surrounded by Helmsley's independent shops, tea rooms, and galleries, with the ruins of Helmsley Castle visible from the courtyard.
The main performance space seats 65 in a retractable tiered arrangement, allowing flexible configuration for theatre, talks, film screenings, and music events. Helmsley is the western gateway to the North York Moors National Park and the starting point of the Cleveland Way national trail. Rievaulx Abbey, one of England's most atmospheric monastic ruins, is 3 miles west. The Helmsley Walled Garden, open to visitors, is a five-minute walk.
