Cerne Abbas Village Hall
Cerne Abbas, Dorset, DT2 7JF
Cerne Abbas Village Hall is in the village overlooked by the Cerne Giant — the famous 180-foot chalk figure carved into the hillside, now believed to date from the Saxon period. The village itself is one of Dorset's most attractive, with timber-framed and stone cottages along Long Street and the ruins of a medieval abbey.
The hall seats 70 and has been well maintained with a modern kitchen, heating, and accessible facilities. A small garden to the rear provides outdoor space. The hall is regularly used for fitness classes, community groups, and private celebrations.
Cerne Abbas sits in the Dorset Downs, surrounded by excellent walking country. The village's Royal Oak and New Inn pubs are well-regarded. The abbey ruins and 14th-century abbey gatehouse add architectural interest, and the village cemetery holds some remarkable memorial stones.
Dorchester is 8 miles south, and Sherborne (with its castle and abbey) is 10 miles north. Dorchester South station offers services to London Waterloo. The A352 passes through the village.
