Topsham Community Hall

Topsham, Devon, EX3 0HF

Topsham Community Hall occupies a prime position on the historic Fore Street of this attractive estuary town, four miles southeast of Exeter. Topsham's Dutch-influenced architecture and thriving food scene — including the renowned Salutation Inn — make it one of Devon's most appealing small towns, and the community hall reflects that quality.

The modern, purpose-built facility replaced the old hall in 2015 and features a bright, airy main room seating 60, with a sprung floor that makes it particularly popular with dance and fitness groups. Floor-to-ceiling windows along one side provide views over the rooftops toward the Exe Estuary.

A second, smaller meeting room accommodates 20 and is ideal for committee meetings, art classes, or small workshops. The commercial-grade kitchen opens directly into the main hall via a serving hatch, simplifying catering for events. The building is fully accessible, with level entry, a hearing loop, and accessible toilets.

Topsham is well connected: regular trains run to Exeter St David's (7 minutes), and cycle paths along the Exe Estuary Trail connect to Exeter and Exmouth. The RSPB Bowling Green Marsh reserve is a short walk away, popular with birdwatchers. Street parking on Fore Street is limited, but the Holman Way car park is five minutes on foot.
