Shere Village Hall

Shere Village Hall stands in what is often called Surrey's prettiest village — a timeless scene of a Norman church, a stream flowing through the centre, and tile-hung cottages gathered around The Square. Film crews agree: Shere has appeared in Bridget Jones's Diary and The Holiday, among others.

The hall on Gomshall Lane seats 70 in a well-maintained space with wooden floors and good natural light. A kitchen and small meeting room complete the facilities. The hall is popular for wedding receptions, with the photogenic village providing an unbeatable backdrop.

Shere sits in the Surrey Hills AONB within easy reach of London. The North Downs Way and Greensand Way both pass nearby, and the Silent Pool — a mysterious spring-fed lake — is half a mile east. The village has two pubs (The White Horse and The William Bray) and a tea room.

Gomshall station, a four-minute walk from the hall, provides direct services to Guildford (15 minutes) and Redhill. Guildford offers fast trains to London Waterloo. The A25 runs through nearby Gomshall.
