Great Tew Village Hall

Great Tew, Oxfordshire, OX7 4DB

Great Tew Village Hall occupies a privileged position in what is frequently named the most beautiful village in Oxfordshire. The golden ironstone cottages, thatched roofs, and estate parkland of Great Tew form an idyllic Cotswolds scene, and the village hall sits perfectly within this setting.

The hall was rebuilt in 2018 to a design sympathetic to the village's architecture, using local stone and traditional slate roofing. Inside, however, it is thoroughly modern: underfloor heating, acoustic panels, a professional-standard kitchen, and AV equipment throughout. The main space seats 80 and opens through bi-fold doors onto a patio overlooking the village green.

Great Tew is four miles east of Chipping Norton on the edge of the Cotswolds AONB. Soho Farmhouse, the members' club, is based on the estate, and the annual Wilderness Festival draws thousands to the park. The Falkland Arms, a classic thatched pub, sits just along the lane and is a natural partner for event refreshments.

Oxford is 20 miles south, and Banbury railway station — with services to London Marylebone in under an hour — is 10 miles north. Parking is available in the village for approximately 15 cars.
