Bampton Community Centre

Bampton Community Centre serves a town famous as the filming location for Downton Abbey — the church, library, and surrounding streets have appeared in countless scenes, bringing visitors from around the world. The community centre sits on Bushey Row, a short walk from the town centre.

The centre offers a versatile main hall seating 70 alongside a smaller meeting room for 20. The main hall has a sprung wooden floor, making it particularly popular with dance groups and fitness classes. Both rooms are available for private hire, and the well-equipped kitchen supports catering for events.

Bampton's annual Morris dancing tradition, one of the oldest in England, centres on the town each spring bank holiday, and the community centre plays a key role in hosting related events. The town also has a weekly Thursday market.

Situated in the Oxfordshire countryside between Witney and Faringdon, Bampton is well-placed for exploring the Cotswolds. The Thames Path passes through nearby Tadpole Bridge, and Bampton Castle's earthworks are visible from the town. Oxford is 18 miles east, and Carterton (with RAF Brize Norton) is 3 miles north. The centre has its own car park with 25 spaces.
