East Meon Village Hall
East Meon, Hampshire, GU32 1PH
East Meon Village Hall is tucked away in one of the South Downs' most beautiful villages, where the River Meon rises from chalk springs and thatched cottages cluster around a Norman church that houses the remarkable Tournai marble font — one of only four in England.
The hall seats 75 in a light, well-proportioned room with views to the surrounding chalk hills. A fitted kitchen and small bar area support events, and the hall opens onto a garden that backs onto the cricket ground — as quintessentially English a setting as you could wish for. The hall has level access and accessible toilet facilities.
East Meon is in the South Downs National Park, surrounded by superb walking and cycling routes. The South Downs Way national trail crosses the ridge above the village, and Butser Hill — the highest point on the downs — is 4 miles southeast. The village has an excellent pub (Ye Olde George Inn) and a community shop.
Petersfield, with direct trains to London Waterloo in under an hour, is 5 miles east. The A3 provides access to Portsmouth (15 miles) and London.
